Sacred Heart Parish Hall Ground Breaking

On Sunday, May 14, 2023, Sacred Heart Parish celebrated the official groundbreaking for their new hall.

In 2017, Sacred Heart Parish decided to tear down the 100+ year-old Sacred Heart School adjacent to their church.  The building, built in 1916, had initially served as a church, school, and convent. It even had a bowling alley in the lower level for many years.  The school had reached the point where remodeling it to meet current needs was not feasible.

The time had come to make necessary updates and discuss fundraising for a new building. A new heating system was then installed in the church in 2018, the school was demolished in 2019 and then Covid-19 sidelined the construction of a new building for several years.  Fundraising continued despite the pandemic and in 2023 building the new hall became a reality.

The hall will provide the parish with much needed space for fellowship, sacramental receptions, education, and organizational meetings.  A covered driveway will allow for safe and easy access to both the church and the hall.  The hall will be accessible to individuals of all abilities, something that could not be achieved in the old school.

The Boson Company is happy to provide construction management services as this is a great day in the history of Sacred Heart. Be sure to watch the progress over the coming months on south Central Ave in Marshfield.
