Title: Business Development Director

Job Summary

Responsible for expanding the company’s business opportunities, business development, marketing and/or sales activities.

Essential Functions

1. Research new business prospects.
2. Identifies and prioritizes potential markets and customers.
3. Prepares and implements business development action plans for targeted markets.
4. Manages contacts regarding new work and potential future work.
5. Provides prospective client insight and strategy in preparing qualifications, proposals, and presentations.
6. Proposal development and assembly for targeted clients.
7. Lead generation, tracking, and follow up.
8. Conducts market research and generates reports.
9. Leads interview team, sets strategy, and prepares PowerPoint and other presentation material.
10. Oversees all corporate communications and media. Protect the brand. Ensure consistency of message and medium.
11. Recommends, leads, and implements BD & marketing campaigns and strategies.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Selects, schedules, and attends trade specific shows promoting brand awareness to generate leads.
2. Attends community activities for networking with key political, business, and civic leaders.
3. Website and social media specific information.
4. Active in community events, programs, and service.
5. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree and/or a combination of five to seven years of leadership experience in business, development, marketing, or sales preferably in a construction related company, or other professional organization.
2. Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and group situations in all forms: written, verbal, listening.
3. Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously and to work collaboratively.
4. Good working knowledge of computers and relevant software.
5. Personal attributes include: personal and professional integrity, excellent professional appearance and presentation, good sense of humor, high energy level and a positive outlook.
6. Valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Most of the work will be performed in a normal office environment with some travel and overnight stays required. Position requires walking, sitting, standing and occasional lifting of 15-25 pounds.
