Title: Business Support Specialist
Job Summary
Performs functions pertaining to, and in support of, all corporate office responsibilities as assigned by management. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Essential Functions
- Performs day-to-day administrative activities as assigned by management.
- Analyze, maintain, and administer all insurance coverages and the renewal process, including Worker's Compensation, Public Liability, Health, Life, Disability, Commercial Auto, Commercial Umbrella, Contractor's Equipment (Inland Marine), Property, Professional Liability and Builder's Risk.
- HR support including recruitment, benefits administration, employee development and education.
- Performs capital expenditure analysis. Assists in purchase activities such as sourcing suppliers, cost analysis and spreadsheet comparisons. Helps secure pricing and specialty services, including vehicles, equipment, IT/Software/Hardware/Copiers etc. Works with vendors to negotiate buyer discounts.
- Government, state, local and other industry licensing and registrations and renewals. Monitor and assure Registered Agents, Annual Report Filing, fee payments in other states Boson performs work.
- Reviews and manages all specialty contractors certificates of insurance for compliance with project specifications. Takes action to correct any deficiencies.
- Support accounting activities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Community involvement and engagement, including support of the company business development manager and initiatives.
- Handles issues and renewals of company internet, phone system, cell phone program.
- Pick up, sort, distribute mail daily from post office.
- Certificate of Insurance review and tracking for subcontractors.
- Request and analyze professional liability/design build insurance coverage from new architectural partners.
- Company vehicle management. Responsible for company driver & Fleet Safety Program submittals and maintenance of drivers/records.
- Crisis Driver safety program maintenance, renewal, and regular testing. Enrolment, training, and employee tracking.
- Prepare routine and advanced correspondence including letters, memoranda, and reports.
- Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or a combination of education and related experience in Construction office management, business or financial office settings and operations.
- Ability to delegate responsibility, prioritize activities, work well with others, and effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Must be detail-oriented, accurate and thorough.
- Working knowledge of computers, general office equipment and software required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The majority of the work will be performed in a normal office environment. Bending, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds is required on an occasional basis. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time is required. This is an in office position.
